Lately I have been alternating off and on days for HDT thiamine. One day thiamine and another day not.
What I've noticed is when I take b1 my pronouciation , later in the day, is more often slurred but I don't get tremors. On the day off I do get slight tremors but my speaking is generally ok.
I wonder if anyone else noticed that also. I don't see how tremor and voice is inversely correlated. Maybe not.

Interesting. What I'd be curious to see is that when you notice the slurred speech with B1, try taking a sublingual b12 and see if the symptom goes away. I'm wondering if you're running deficient with methyl donors when that happens and slurred speech is one of the symptoms of b12 deficiency.
I am confused by your post. I don’t consider the B1 as having an instant effect, but rather see it as raising levels over time. I only take B1 every other day because a very low dose suits me, and I notice no difference between B1 days and non-B1 days. After all, those who take their thiamine by injection only have their dose twice a week.
I agree. I've been taking it for 1.5 years now. I've reduced several times since starting. I'm now at 600mg. It has helped a lot.
Maybe I'm at some sort of inflection point. I noticed the same reaction when I stopped b1 for a few days back in September. I thought it was my imagination. I felt I may have to reduce it again so I began thinking alternating days.
I've been concerned about my voice for a while. It was one of my first symptoms and tremor followed. My wife says it's ok but I'm conscious about it. It may be unique to me as I used to stutter as a boy. But I out grew that. But the stutter seems to be returning also but probably not PD related like the slurring.
Whether it is b1 or something else I notice the voice/tremor relationship. Which I thought was weird.
Hi...B1 has an instant affect on me. I am super sensitive towards it. This is going into my 3rd yr...began with 4 grams, down to 500-750 mg, still can't get to the magic dose, but it makes me feel 70 % better. I particularly noted that it helps when extreme tension builds up in my right shoulder, balance, and helps stabilize walking. Take too much & its a disaster, I'm set back for a few days, and then everything gets worse.
Still confused about b1,Sinemet and many supplements.I have been on supplements since 2018 under the direction of a functional medicine dr/pharmacist I have been on Sinemet and baclofen for 1 year.I have read your book but need guidance. Functional medicine dr/pharmacist muscle tested me and said that I should take 500 mg b1 twice a day. Prior to starting the Sinemet wasn't lasting 8 hours and I had some of shrugs, lip quiver, tremors sometimes increase. Those side effects occur 21/2 hours after c/l,very in frequency and intensity for 2hrs then disappear until 21/2 hrs after next Sinemet. Stress exacerbates. Some days I have very little side effects. I started 500 once a day 3 weeks ago. No change. Should I increase to twice a day or increase c/l. Your help will be appreciated. I'm also taking a b complex as recommended by functional medicine dr/pharmacist. I see movement specialist this week. She pushes medication.
I think a muscle test would only give you a dosage of B1 which corrected a deficiency. I don’t think it would give you a dosage for this high dose therapy. Firstly I would recommend that you gave 500mg a chance. We say 4-6 weeks at each level. Then I would move up to 1000mg/day if you’ve seen no symptom improvement. Are you a member of my Facebook group? Lots of help and support there…
My dose is low 200 mg 5 days a week with weekends off. By monday my index finger is being all pointy so i'm reminded its time to start. I find 5 on 2 off gd as keeps levels consistent. What i mean is since doing on/off i haven' t had to withdraw at all as B1 building up.
I took rescuema and wifeofparky advice and added B12 and b complex to my day yesterday with the B1. It was a good day. Voice was good and no tremor. Time will tell if it is the right solution.
