Nettle tea seems to help!

Has anyone tried strong nettle tea? It seems to help me a bit to mitigate OFF time pain and non motor symptoms. It’s a natural anti inflammatory. Available on Amazon or grow your own (but beware of stinging ) ! Tastes ok .

I've been looking at the nettles in my garden (winter here in Australia) and thinking about making some tea. Thank you, I'll try and report if any noticeable changes happen.

I grow stinging nettle. How often and what amount per cup do you drink?

Nettle must be dried. You could use dehydrator or very low oven. Use leaves and stems. About 2 tabkesooons per 8 oz cup of tea. Steep 10 minutes. Ok to drink one cup per hour. But one cup could be enough.

Just realized I did not answer your dosage question. I usually only drink nettle tea when my pain is bad. Never tried using it regularly but maybe I should!

Wierd isn't it? Nettle tea works for some. There was talk of bee venom as well. Both cause an allergic reaction. And there's also indications that ANTI allergenics like histamines have an effect. Of course we are all missing dopamine...but one has to wonder what else is going on...

Thanks for sharing your experience. I've used stinging nettle for years, long before diagnosed with PD, for allergies as it is an antihistamine. I recently was looking into the connection between allergies and PD and found this article outthinkingparkinsons.com/a... . Could explain your positive effects. I am not sure how it may help me because my symptoms are pretty minimal.
