therapeutic plasma exchange TPE

Hi,

We saw a new functional medicine doctor who has recommended TPE - Therapeutic Plasma Exchange. Wondering if anyone has tried this route or has any opinions on it. It's very expensive but is something we are considering trying for my husband with Parkinsons.

Thoughts?

Thank you.

Did the doc explain how it works and in what ways it would help?

yes. I have watched videos also. It will take out blood and filter out the toxins in the plasma. It will take several times to do this. Each time about 3 hours.

oh and in what ways it will help …. Hoping he will feel better with removing toxins like heavy metals. He does have some heavy metals as we have done testing as well as some plastics very high in his system. We have done several tests. I don’t know that it can reverse any damage but I guess my hope is to stop further progression. Being hopeful i guess.

What testing have you done to learn about the metals and plastics?

Because I wanted to update on how the TPE went for my husband. it went okay. He had 4 treatments over like 7 months. I feel like he might be a little better but no significant improvement. But I guess no significant decline either. I think... so hard to judge as there are and have always been good days and bad days.

Thank you. If you had it to do again, would you both say yes or no?

I think the tests were all urine but one might have been stool. the urine is collection over I think it was 48 hours. We did through neuropath doctor- Genova Diagnostics and Vibrant Wellness. He is high in lead, mercury (not too high) copper (very high) and Vibrant wellness showed him off the chart high in BPA - plastics. We have also tried glutahion iv therapy and others like dmso for detox. I think it makes him sick.... I think he's very toxic.

Will be having second treatment next month. No changes noted after first treatment but as stated it will take a few. My Dr is administering it using TrueDose protocols. Theory being that platelets are “de programmed” when captured so that when they are returned through the IV they prioritize where they are needed. For example the brain would be priority followed by organs, joints etc. This is how they are designed to respond as they are essential in healing anything. We’re praying that it provides relief but I’m also learning to adapt as things progress, but thankful it’s a slow progression. When I look back it’s been 7 yrs already and things could always be worse! I’ll have to update after my next treatment.
