To B or not to B: confused by the bs... - Cure Parkinson's
To B or not to B
More and more, it is becoming clear that people with PD, either with or without C/L medication, have deficiencies in one or more B vitamins, which can have serious consequences for PD symptoms, effectiveness of the medication and even the possibility of developing neuropathy. Based also on my own experience, I recommend that anyone with PD or at risk of the disease should have their levels of B6 and B2 tested in addition to the standard blood tests of B1, B9 and B12. It is preferable to do this before starting B vitamin supplementation to gain insight into your deficiencies. If you are stubborn and think you don't need to be tested, it is advisable to take a B complex with moderate doses of all B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B7, B9, and B12) in bioactiv form, for added assurance. I recommend Dap1948 's Book amazon.com/Parkinsons-Thera...
And her Facebook Page facebook.com/groups/parkins...
I follow the original protocol if Dr Constantini on the grounds that his use in his clinic means that that particular form of B1 has been extensively tested.
If you search in the files on this site you will find a lot of valuable information. Chartist has drawn together the information you will need
If it helps, I take a good quality multi vitamin/ mineral supplement and also B1 HCL and it works for me
Hello
. How much of B1 Hcl do you take and can you share the name of B1 Hcl please.,
The book was reviewed by Dr. C's associates before being published. Yes, it has evolved into lower doses than Dr. C's and more choices of B1,. As I understand Dr. C was finding his doses were too high and had started lowering his starting doses before his death. There's plenty of success stories with Dap1948 's protocol.
And, all of Dap's profits from book sales go to a GO-Fund-Me to continue Dr. C's research.
check any supplement has the natural form of b12 and folate ie not cyano cobalamin and folic acid as some people have a gene defect that make these synthetic forms hard to utilise and might even cord out any natural b12 and folate from foods.
Look for methyl and adenosyl cobalamin b12 and methyl folate
There is NO MEDICATION ON THE MARKET THAT REVERSES PD!
I was diagnosed with PD in 1992 and after taking medication for 2 years I decided to follow my wife's example and take up FAST WALKING!
It had got rid of her health problems, which the doctors had failed to do. She begged me to also do FAST WALKING and, within 2 years, my PD symptoms had also disappeared.
I have been PD symptom free since 1996.
At nearly 90 years of age, I am having other health problems which stop me doing the walking.
I have had a very good innings and am prepared to let it all happen again.
28 years is not bad to be PD symptom-free would you not agree?
TRY IT. WALK AS FAST AS YOU CAN, FOR A MXIMUM OF 1 HOUR,. EVERY SECOND DAY.
At almost 90 years of age, I am still walking, with a walker and, am doing well albeirt, with other health problems.
Oh God bless you sir. I wish you all the best . Can you do treadmill, as over here in Texas the heat index is so high that it makes it impossible to go for a walk, especially if you are not an early bird.
Yes! you can!!! Of course, it is not as good or effective as walking on the road or, even better, on grass. it there!
The secret is pushing yourself to the limit and holding it there for as long as you can; for a maximum of one hour, every second day! NO MORE!
There is NO MEDICATION ON THE MARKET WHICH REVERSES PD!
GET THAT INTO YOUR HEAD AND START DOING SOMETHING TO HELP YOURSELF!
I started doing FAST WALKING in 1994 and by 1996 my PD symptoms had all disappeared and have stayed like that ever since, providing that I continue to do the fast walking.
But, other health problems have bugged me this past year and I have not been able to do the fast walking, SO! My PD is coming back again.
I am nearly 90 years old and am tempted to let nature take it's course, but, I hate the thought of giving in!
