I have been on Rasagiline for just over 1 month with no side effects, it has helped with my sleep and eased movement/stiffness sightly, I am fighting tremor dominant PD with cervical dystonia, I also take Ropinirole.

My husband has been taking it for more than 4 years now. Dx for 9 years. He stopped taking it as an experiment for about 3 weeks as he thinks it gives dyskinesia but slowed right down so took it again.

It does give him slight dyskinesia but at least it allows him more movement.

Thanks for replying- my partner has stiffness in shoulder no other issues with walking etc and it’s more the discomfort of the internal tremor that keeps her awake

It’s a minefield all the different meds and supplements!!!

Maybe she should try half a tablet couple of weeks see how it goes …

It is an absolute minefield and pills seem to have different responses on different days! My husband cut it in half when he first began to take it for about 2 weeks, as the Neuro suggested that, then took a whole one.

I don’t have PD but have a shoulder problem, and don’t want surgery. It is helped at night with a pain gel rubbed in and then I spray bio freeze over the gel! It allows me to drift off to sleep. Magnesium can also help and sometimes I have a couple of Paracetamols as well.

I find that it has a very minor effect. I don’t really feel a difference if I take it or not, but my neuro says it has a protective effect. My Understanding is that it slows down the breakdown of available dopamine .
