Why do I panic if I have to walk over a shiny floor? I love my Zumba class, but I feel so unstable. I’m fine on a carpet or non-shiny surface, but most dance classes are on the dance hall type. It’s not slippery and I’m wearing suitable shoes. I feel stupid because it’s so irrational.

It may be irrational but it happens to me also. Any shiny/ polished/ gleaming tiles etc
and I grab my husband's hand.

My opinion a phobia. Maybe you had a bad fall on a hard surface. I have a phobia, little round green sweet garden peas — I have tried to force myself to eat them; they don’t taste bad, but I have visions of chinaberries and barf.
