The results reveal that after 12 months, those given lixisenatide showed essentially no progression of motor problems, while those given the placebo showed worsening symptoms, dropping around three points on the 132-point assessment scale – a modest difference, yet thought to be clinically meaningful.

I had read about trials of exenatide so was wondering if lixisenatide was similar and how it was different so this is what I found

"In addition, the lixisenatide pen is faster and results in fewer errors than its comparator (exenatide). The lixisenatide pen may therefore be a suitable choice for patients with T2DM, including older and pen device-naïve patients, and those with visual impairments and reduced manual dexterity."

I am not usually bitter and I apologies for the following comment...

May, Potentially, Possibly, etc.

All tricky words 🙏

I'm happy to see this, similar to the potential disease modifying impact of Exenatide.

As a PwP, who wouldn't take a 12 month period passing with "no worsening of motor symptoms" (and who knows, potentially no progression of your Parkinson's).

Very encouraging research, even groundbreaking 😃
