I’d like to shear this news from Parkinson’s News Today:

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration in December 2023 cleared the device for measuring brain electrical activity and selectively destroying damaged nervous tissue during functional neurosurgery, or surgery to restore neuronal function. NeuroOne said at the time it expected to launch the system in the first half of 2024.

I am confused as to how this helps parkinsons? Tremor treatments? How is it different from focussed ultrasound? thanks for updating us!

First of all, NeuroOne is a company that has multiple products. The one that just gained approval is OneRF™ Ablation System, their marquee product. It appears this is a brain implanted device that not only monitors brain activity to determine pathological areas, but can also send either therapeutic pulses or perform ablation, similar to MRGFUS but I’m not sure how it’s different.
