Tapeworms and Parkinson’s

I don't know what to make of this but it is true and I wanted to share it in case it sparks anything positive. I chat to a nice, intelligent bloke with PD in his early forties who lives around the corner. He is not prone to flights of fancy. What has happened to him is a bit nuts.

14 years ago he went on holiday to Brazil = creepy crawlies we Englanders are not used to.

He suffers badly from YOPD.

2 weeks ago he stopped eating meat. He said he felt a bit better.

One night last week he was salivating all night and ‘went to the loo’ about 10 times.

His torrid night ended with him coughing-up what he assumes was a tapeworm, which he got rid of.

He is still taking his meds but he has gone from suffering badly with PD to being 90-100% his old self. He simply CANNOT believe how good he feels, and it has blown his mind. It is early days so he has not been the the GP or PD Nurse yet, Maybe he never had PD. Maybe the change was the result of seven days without a Greggs sausage roll. Has anyone heard of anything similar?

at what age was he diagnosed with YOPD? How exactly did he improve? Is he taking the same amount of medication?

He is early forties and was diagnosed seven-ish years ago. He is taking the same meds that hadn't given too much relief a fortnight ago. He now has no symptoms most of the time and very few symptons the rest of the time. Jammy b@$t4rd 😄

I will do an update later in the week.

He just sent me a video of himself walking and running today. I said I am like that for a short period of my ON time when the planets align so I asked him what his off time is like, and he says he doesn't have any off time now. It seems he has not had PD. Or maybe he did and something was blocking the meds. This is certainly one of those strange edge cases, however, it has focused me on identifying and destroying the bad bugs. But what are they? And how do you get rid of them? Meanwhile I am still bowled over and overjoyed for him.

Would you please share the video?

You can ask for his permission, else what you say here is unsubstantiated...

A few years ago the news mentioned that tapeworms can cure allergies. People with allergies were traveling to Africa and wandering the jungle barefoot in hopes of being cured. So what's crazy?

With my luck I would come back with no PD but the beubonic plague, dengue fever and an undiscovered flavour of Covid (assuming they have a US funded Chinese bio lab in the jungle I visit).

Further proof that the 7-year rule still dictates even in the most symbiotic of relationships.

Bit of an update. It seems his PD has not vanished, and he still does have symptoms, but he is still far better than he was. Who knows eh. Not me, for sure.
