my symptoms made me feel horrific, yet the output of the clinical tests he performed on me did not reflect what I was feeling. He thought perhaps 1 of 3 things could be exacerbating my pd symptoms 1. Sleep issues (sleep study showed no issues). 2. Mood; jury is still out, I have tried 2 stimulants and 4 or 5 antidepressants, all to no avail. The third thing which we r focusing on is blood pressure. I was tested on a tilt table at nyulangone dysautonomia center in nyc. What they discovered was that there may be blood pressure baroreceptor failure in the carotid artery , it is treated differently that resulted from radiation I had to my neck when I had tonsil cancer in 2007. Dr said that it can take years for this to manifest itself. My blood pressure was erratic although I was not diagnosed with orthostatic hypotension (can be common in PwP) as I understand it , if blood pressure issues like mine r caused by pd vs. radiation for cancer, they r treated differently, also, there r few doctors that are aware of this issue. So, maybe my symptoms won’t be so bad if compression socks, abdomen binder, avoiding high glycemic foods, recommended by doc will help me.
