Personally, with my high school degree, I think the poo pooers are missing a key point: Nobody is saying that lectins affect everybody negatively. They are not even saying lectins are the root cause. They, for the most part, are saying that something has gone wrong with some subset of people, and in those people the lectins cause an immune reaction wherein the body attacks itself because those people have proteins that are similar to the lectins. And that lectins can cause leaky gut and that lectins can get into your bloodstream.
I am sure I butchered that. I don't read much. The point is, these poo pooers seem to always be saying "we have eaten lectins forever and nobody died". First, they would not know if people died, and second, maybe something has changed in the last 50 years. For instance, crops have been genetically modified over the last 50 years to have more lectins so they would be naturally (but not natural at all) resistant to pests.
It's kind of like telling somebody with a peanut allergy not to worry about peanuts or a Celeac person not to worry about gluten because people have been eating peanuts and wheat for thousands of years.
I'm not saying lectins are the devil. I just don't think the arguments against thinking lectins are the devil hold up to basic logical scrutiny.
