I have been off wheat for over a year, but the last few weeks I have been having sourdough bread. I think I will stop. I want to stay away from gluten, lectins, ATI, and also stay away from yeast.
I stumbled across this video today:
I Got Rid Of 90% Of My Dandruff/Seborrheic Dermatitis With One Simple Change
There are a number of theories linking yeast to PD. Nothing proven that I know of. Seems interesting that Seborrheic Dermatitis goes along with PD and with yeast. I cut out almost all carbs and processed food for about 9 months a couple of years ago and my lifelong dandruff disappeared.

totally agree! I had the same issue and got it resolved by elimination of lectins and yeast 3 years ago. Loss of + 20 kg was a bonus. Ocassionaly, when I'm in Southern Europe I enjoy a croisant or pizza, even a few pints of beer but once I'm in UK, I stay away from it, and ocasionaly bake with einkorn flour as it doesn't seem to effect me.
Like two other ancient wheats, emmer (farro) and spelt flour, einkorn is a covered wheat — however, these ancient grains have less gluten and more nutrition than traditional whole wheat.
Ancient grains are thought by many to be inherently more nutritious than modern varieties. Einkorn flour is the most ancient wheat, offering many essential dietary and trace minerals.
It’s a good source of protein, iron, dietary fiber, thiamine and a number of other B vitamins. It also contains a significant amount of the powerful antioxidant lutein, with higher antioxidant levels than durum and bread wheat.
There is a much lower percentage of nutrient loss during processing of einkorn, and it can be substituted for whole wheat flour in most recipes, though it may result in a different texture. Regardless, the results are worth exploring, especially since the nutritional benefits likely outweigh other options.
Regarding dandroof, seborrheic dermatitis and yeast/fungus - it all began appearing on my face and body right after fungal toe nail infection in the gym, 5 years prior to my YOPD diagnosis. Like the guy in the video, I was only able to reduce it temporary by using Selsun. The diet change did not help with my toe nail fungus until I added stinkhorn mushroom to my "drinks menu" and began daily concentrated apple cider vinegar foot bathing. I managed to recover all 5 of them within 4 months.
Bear1927, Your experience is encouraging. Thanks for sharing your success in ridding toe nail fungus! Please provide details: Can daily concentrated apple cider vinegar foot bathing alone work, or must it be done in combination with the change in diet? Was foot bathing soaking or washing? If soaking, how many minutes? Did you use fresh vinegar each day? Appreciate any other helpful info, thanks.
I would suggest filing the dead fungus away (few times a week) first and than soaking (daily) the whole foot in mix of any apple cider vinegar (250ml) with very hot water (1ltr) before bed, up to 1 hour/ minimum 30 minutes. The longer - the better. You can add generous portion of sea/hymalayan salt or magnesium flakes and single clove bud for increased effect. Once soaking is done and foot is dry try rubbing it with Castor oil. Always use fresh ingridients, never re-use.
One question: did many of our forum members experienced fungal toenail / nail infection prior to the PD diagnosis?
The food cravings will go away too w discipline and time. Bread and yeast begets more bread and yeast. All the fungus and bacteria that constantly tug on you (make you crave it) will either die off, get weak and less dominant, or find something else to survive on.
Yes! I had read that your gut makes you crave what it wants. When I started eating bread again I thought, hey a slice a day and I will be fine, but NOOO, always at least 2 slices twice a day! I am back on the bread wagon (Not having bread).
Thanks. I don't really want to treat the symptom, I want to treat the cause. I think there is a chance that the cause of the Seborrheic Dermatitis might also be part of the root cause of PD (for some people).
