Im a keen believer that tai chi, boxfit, cycling helps reduce and maybe slow my symptoms. But I've noticed that possibly the most impacted part of my body is my hands, which I pay little attention to exercise wise.
The other day I found an old sponge stress ball that I now play with if watching TV. Good easy exercise while lazing.😊
Might be a good purchase for a few pounds

I just bought a set of various hand exercising devices. I started using them (mostly my left/affected hand) a few days ago. I was shocked at how much weaker my left hand has become.
Hi, Yes me too. It seems to have quietly weakened my hands/wrists the most. Ì realised when trying to turn a screwdriver while making a garden planter. An electric screw driver has become a godsend 🙂Hopefully we can improve on flexibility/strength.
I'm still trying to understand my symptoms so I am curious when you say:

Do you mean that your hands are getting weaker and you are losing muscle tone?
I think I have the opposite problem - I have too much muscle tone /tensing. It is bilateral and equally bad from head to toe. I just can't move a finger for hours at a time.
I was wondering if this is typical of Parkinson's or I have got some other underlying condition that has been overlooked.
Hello Daisies, Sorry to hear that. I was just pointing out how I've forgotten to exercise my hands while doing the rest of my body. Yes I probably have lost some tone.
I tend to undermedicate and never taken madopar yet. So not being a medic it's difficult to advise.
I have heard that years of high dosage can lead to dystonia.
I'd be tempted to start a separate post on here explaining your position as there are a few on here who seem quite knowledgeable and may provide some good pointers.
Thank you for your quick reply.I might start a new post, I'll think about it.
And yes, levodopa certainly causes dystonia, it's just that I don't understand why this seemingly is happening to me at any concentration of levodopa (calculated from the pharmako kinetic curve...)
