My 98 year father was falling more often and was light headed at times. He had low blood pressure. Fractured his hip in April, passed away in May.

his doctor says that his medical issues are related to a concussion he suffered and/or dehydration

"Dr. Monahan said that “occasional lightheadedness is not uncommon in concussion recovery and can also be expected as a result of dehydration.” Mr. McConnell sustained a concussion this year after falling at a Washington hotel."

There is now a distinction made between what is termed Parkinson’s Disease and what is called Parkinsonism. In the latter there are intermittent sysmptoms such as the one described and others, such as Dystonia.

The terminology has been changed for the very reason that there is often confusion about symptoms.

Interesting that Merkel showed symptoms of tremor and slow speech recall when speaking at an EU summit last year. There was much speculation in the press but her doctors said she was suffering from dehydration. Soon afterwards she resigned from her role

Parkinsonism is the diagnosis in the very beginning of all patients, as some patients a year or two down the road start to have symptoms of another neurological condition which has some symptoms of PD (ALS, MSA, PSP, etc.) To avoid misdiagnosis, doctors call all these neurological diseases PARKINSONISM.

A close friend has had transient ischemic strokes that have a similar effect. They are tiny strokes and they look as though she had forgotten what she was saying, or can't quite remember where she is. It passes in a minute or two and, after a confused look, she can usually pick up the conversation where it stopped. I thought it might be Parkinson's too.
