Recently saw this research which raised my interest as my HWP suffered from REM sleep disorder, not severe, before going on to develop PD.
The ‘acting ‘out of dreams during sleep was not consistent, but it was happening before symptoms of PD appeared. Maybe a different diet may have helped.
It certainly is uppermost now in our lives when trying to keep to a ‘healthier’ diet’.
I think so too. Maybe as LeharLover62 says could be the prevalence of Soya products, fermented soya is supposed to be healthy for the gut as well. Soya also helps with lowering cholesterol in some studies, and it could be it has more health benefits.
Interesting! I wonder if it’s really an ingredient in legumes or soy that is beneficial, or if it’s more the likelihood that people who eat more soy are also eating less meat? Also don’t they eat a lot of fermented soy in Korea?
Especially when it comes to attention to vegetables, the MIND diet is recommended for PD. Although the fermented products are not explicitly mentioned, soy sauce, tamari and tofu are widely used in the recipes of the Creator Dr. Martha Clare Morris.
