Hi! Joined group for additional possibilities and feedback regarding alternative treatments for PD. Husband was just diagnosed with severe PD. Neurologist wants him to start Sinemet CR immediately but we also began about a month ago the Bredesen Protocol. We have noticed some lessening of symptoms already, so we're hesitant to start Sinemet CR so soon. (My grandmother had PD, so I know the progression and side effects of Levodopa, Sinemet, etc.) We're interested in learning as much as we can about alternatives and the experiences of others with PD. Grateful for this site!

There are non-prescription disease modifying treatments that I and many others have found helpful. Implement the thiamine and the cinnamon one at a time and see how one works before proceeding with the other:

• High-dose thiamine. Dosing instructions and other information at the links. Allow four months for full effect:

A good source of thiamine HCl is here: vitacost.com/vitacost-vitam...

• Cinnamon. Allow two months for full effect. My report healthunlocked.com/cure-par...

• Qigong. My story here: healthunlocked.com/cure-par...

You can find a score of treatments that will help . Bredesen is of course very good , PhotoBioModulation ( Vielight ) and Intermittent Fasting are worth a try , Methylene Blue and H2Water may also help . Good luck and keep searching and trying .

Thank you so much! Haven't looking into PhotoBioModulation, will do! My hubby was doing intermittent fasting but with the carbidopa levidopa, he's supposed to eat some carbs with the doses! We will look into Methylene Blue and the H2Water. We saw a Triyent (sp?) Hydrogen machine (like Kengan only with great filters), but need to look further. Is that what you're referring to with H2water?

Don't waste your time on medication becasue none of ity reverses the symptoms of PD. The only way to do that is to do regular FAST WALKING!

Don't tell yourself you can't do it! Everybody caa, unless they are bedridden.

Contact me and I will give you all the datails of how to go about doing it. I was diagb=nosed in 1992 and now, ayt the age of 88 I nobody would evert say I still have PD!

Thank you so much!!! I've been trying to encourage him to walk. It's difficult when he seems to be so tired all the time. Do the shaking and tense muscles tire others out also? Also, do you happen to understand why the tremors stop during sleep?

Hi. As you know, I am not a doctor and everything I say relates to my past experience.

My thoughts on this matter are as follows.

PD relates to the subconscious brain only. When we sleep, I dont' think we use the conscious area of the brain at all. I think that while conscious, we shake because the sub-conscious part of the brain is working all the time, controlling our posture etc. As all of that is not being use dwhen we slleep then, we don't shake.

Can we trust "The End of Alzheimer's"? (i.e., the Bredersen protocol)

"Despite the certainty inferred by the book’s subtitle, there is no published study that tests or proves the hypothesis that the Bredesen protocol can prevent and reverse cognitive decline."

Thank you for your response. Since it would be very difficult to do a double blind study with so many diseases, sensitivities, allergies, viruses, bacteria, etc., that Dr. Bredesen addresses with each patient depending upon their test results to see which of the 36 (may be 40 now) contributing factors (diseases, sensitivities, allergies, viruses, bacteria, etc.), we're of the mindset to move forward rather than wait. As it is now, with many diseases and issues physicians are utilizing many pharmaceuticals for off-label needs that have not undergone double blind studies, so I don't see why we shouldn't try these other safer alternatives. That's just our philosophy as of late. Each person has to judge for themselves, but I do appreciate anecdotal evidence.

Naturally, you should go with what feels right to you. Personally I just find that there are confusingly many potential treatments out there, and I only have limited resources in terms of time, energy and money so that I need to preselect the options that I want to pursue by some demonstrated evidence. Anecdotal results are a start, but should also be amenable to objective testing. In any case, very best wishes to you and your husband.
