Like many of you, I don't get my hopes up when I hear about possible treatments being studied that might slow PD. I recently read this one in Parkinsons News Today about buntanetap. Does anyone have the inside scoop on whether this one might be different?
For the drugs that are supposed to break down alpha synuclein protein clumps, is there a way for them to actually monitor if the break down is occurring, as opposed to just looking at symptom relief? It seems that if there is a treatment that can slow the progression of dopamine neurons dying, it wouldn't necessarily provide symptom relief since the treatment isn't replenishing the dopamine neurons.
