In this recent interesting review a group of Italian scientists summarized the role of oxidative stress in age-related neurological diseases, focusing on the current knowledge of the antioxidant compounds present in edible mushrooms. It substantiates in a way the results of previous research, like the Singapore “2 cups mushrooms a week” study (*) and their potential to preserve healthy aging by counteracting age-associated neurological diseases like PD.
