Yes. RLS may or may not be part of Parkinsons from what I was told

My husband has them quite a lot. Didn’t before PD though.

Yep!

My own journey with PD has started with RLS almost a year before I received my PD diagnosis.

that is interesting because they claim there is no connection, Honestly sadly they no so little.

Who claims there is no connection? They are, and that's pretty well known. And one treatment for RLS is dopamine agonist...actually the same patches you can use for PD.

Maybe the dr. you talked to was a little uninformed?

Professors I have been associated with and quite a few articles.

Only that, plenty of (probably most) people have RLS and don't go on to develop PD--it's not an absolute. And if you really want to dig deep, technically the RLS you get with PD is slightly different than the RLS you get without.

But the end game is the same--it's VERY common in PD to have restless legs especially in bed, and neurologists know this.

I also began my PD experience with RLS.

I started experiencing RLS long before being diagnosed w/ pd - I'm talking decades. I have found some success with Restless Legs (otc) - also walking for approximately ten minutes just before going to bed sometimes helps.

Personally I take Gabapentin 300mg before going to bed and it works well so far.

My mother began w RLS also but I believe Requip contributed to her subsequent PD diagnosis. We weaned her off of it but it was very difficult after a decade in that awful drug.

RLS patients are all put on Parkinson’s drugs they are trying to change because of augmentation . I am so blessed to be on buprenorphine totally eliminates my symptoms .I would have followed through with assisted dying in Switzwerland years ago.
