I am about to start B1 therapy for PD using oral capsules. Should I take capsules with food or without or does it not matter? Thanks

My husband is taking-Co-enzymated B1 25mg sublingual when waking up

-100 mg HCL at about 10 - 11am every second day in a B1 comlpex. About 30 min before or with breakfast and

-about 80 - 100 mg TTFD (thiamax) and

-a quarter capsule DopaBoost before or after lunch

We're thinking of adding Benfothiamine also and waiting for the sublingual tablets Daphne is taking

He is doing intermittent fasting.

I’m inclined to start this post “are you trying to kill him?” But you might not appreciate my humour!

More is not better with this therapy! The coenzymated dose, and the TTFD doses you are giving him already are both too high, and your planning to add Benfotiamine and sublingual….

Any format of thiamine will work… oral hcl, sublingual etc. I think taking multi-forms will confuse your dosing. Remember you must find his sweet spot. Too much and symptoms will worsen temporarily.

Have you read the book “Parkinson’s and the B1 therapy”? Available from Amazon and other book shops.

Thank you for reading my message. I appreciate your feedback. I was not aware that it's too much.

Yes I have the book and read a twice. :)

The coenzymated is 20 mg.

We use 1 thiamax a week.

What about less HCL or Benfothiamine instead of HCL.

Thank you for your help

The coenzymated sublingual B1 is strong, assuming your husband is taking it properly, ie under the tongue. If he is taking it as per the sublingual instructions in the book, then I would recommend just 3 doses a week, Monday, Wednesday and Friday. That would be his complete B1 dose. He would not need TTFD or Superior Source sublingual or Benfotiamine.

The 100mg hcl is in the B-complex which he takes alternate days and is a very low dose anyway as it passes through the digestive system. Keep giving him that.

Message me how he reacts to the recommended dosing and I’ll help you fine tune it so we can find his sweet spot…

Great. Thank you for the help.He is taking the coenzymated B1 as recommended in your book.

When waking, drink of water, slowly dissolving etc.

He started with just the coenzymated to begin with every 3rd day for 2 weeks then every 2nd day but he found it worked better to take everyday. He is 6ft2.

Will it build up? Perhaps to reduce again after a while? He started at the beginning of the year.
