My gynecologist just Rx'd an estrogen (plus progesterone because I still have a uterus) patch. My MDS says he's fine with me trying it. Does anyone here have any experience with it? I'm just wondering if there are any benefits or "gotchas" that are unique to WWP.
I'm 57, a few years post-menopausal, and have never tried any hormonal therapies.
Thanks!

I've been on an estrogen patch since pretty much the second I went through menopause. IMO on balance, it's good for you, that the studies that showed it wasn't were flawed. Here is just one article. There are more. actiondirectcare.com/the-ho...
Thank you for the reply! It's reassuring to hear from another Parkie who has used it without problems. I've been on a pretty even keel lately, so I don't want to rock the boat, yet I feel that the hormones might help. 😉
Well, I don't think I've ever met anyone who's felt WORSE on it. Try it!
BTW--I had a complete hysterectomy a few years back, mostly because my mom had ovarian cancer and after seeing how that went down I just didn't want to mess with it (it's one of those awful cancers that has no symptoms until you are pretty much in stage 4) (Bless her heart, she's beaten the HUGE odds and is doing fine, but still...shudder.)
My point there was, I started on estrogen and progesterone...now just estrogen. Feels the same imo.
Thanks again for the feedback, and that's wonderful that your mom's doing OK! 💜 Cancer sucks. My cousin's wife was just diagnosed with stage 3 uterine. It's scary.
After trying Sinemet and having such horrible side effects, it's made me a tad paranoid to try any new pharmaceuticals at all. I think I'll give it a go though.
