Recently, after many attempts over the last 15 months to find my optimal daily oral dosage of B1 HCL per Dr. Constantini's B1 Protocol, trying dosages between 1,200mg and 3,500 mg/day, I’ve decided to cease taking oral B1 and try sub-lingual B1 instead. My reasoning for giving up on oral B1 is as follows: Like many who suffer from Parkinson's, I have frequent and chronic constipation, and I think that this may "muddy the waters" when it comes to finding an optimal oral dosage of B1, because for me and those like me, there is no single optimal dosage. If, for instance, I'm not constipated at all, my optimal dosage might be 1,500mg/day. If semi-constipated, it might be 2,200 mg, and if extremely constipated, it might be 3,500 mg/day. In other words, a dosage which is fine on one day might be either too little or too much on another, depending upon the level of intestinal blockage.
Is there anyone else on Dr. Constantini's B1 Protocol who is having similar problems?

My wife has suffered with constipation for several years. Since she started taking oral B1 her constipation has improved tremendously. She first started on 1000mg just over 2 months ago and gradually progressed to now taking 2000mg per day. As she started increasing the B1, her constipation also started improving.
She has not had constipation now for over a month, something that has never happened before and we can only presume that it is the B1.
It is difficult to say whether she has found her optimal dose as she still suffers from brain fog and we are thinking of increasing her dose in the next 2 or 3 weeks to perhaps 2200mg.
Other things are also improving, and today she drove her car which she hadn't done for the past several months.
This past week she has also started taking star anise and nutritional yeast. Shall share any substantial changes we notice in the following weeks.
Thanks for suggesting Facebook as a source of information. Although not a user, I have quickly looked at it and found much info there too.
Yes, I did download your book a few weeks back and found it very helpful, thanks for writing it - and for donating the proceeds to such a good cause. As I read it so quickly, I decided to read it again a few days ago. I would suggest others do the same as it helps to strengthen the positive feelings.
You are a wonderful role model and hope you continue doing well.
Hi, I have been on B1 sublingual for five months now. Have definitely had many improvements; including some minor improvement with my bowel issues. I started on sublingual specifically because I have regular gastric issues (constipation, heartburn etc). If you have not already done so, please get Daphne Bryan's great book: Parkinsons and the B1 Therapy (available on Amazon). Also join hjer facebpook group: Parkinson's B1 Therapy, Good luck this is a long journey; I am impressed with your endurance. Please keep it up.
