have you already looked at the Theracycle?

theracycle.com/

They are pricey but you can likely find a used one.

Yes thanks. Like the smaller format and it's portability. Have a plug in version of the above but different brand. Like the new one bcause it's battery run.

I'd like to see some actual studies of people with Parkinson's using this specific type of device. It certainly looks like a convenient way to include exercise in your life but does it make a difference or is exercising with this not strenuous enough?

May help to do a search "forced exercise for parkinson's disease"

I have a machine that is almost as good as the Theracycle, which costs near to $5,000 and that’s just way too much. And it’s heavy, very. You can’t really move it around. The one I have is called Prevention Motorized Dual Hand and Foot Recovery Exerciserand it is portable and the top speed is just 2 mph less than the Theracycle and cost just $347 on Amazon. It’s forced peddling just like the Theracycle and I love it, my legs feel like I got good work out when I’m done and I feel my heart working. I’ve been using this for years and it’s part of my daily routine and I attribute much of my success in staving off some of the the pd symptoms from this machine and the other exercises I do. I also walk every day and do qigong and wii bowling and wii fit amongst other things. We’ve all been told that exercise is crucial to fighting back the symptoms of this disease, which we all know can be quite challenging and frustrating so the more you can move the better. I’ve had pd for a very long time, way before my dx in 09, and today my tremor is so faint I almost forget about it and I’m still just on sinemet only and only 3-4 times a day and I can still take care of myself without too much assistance. So, I give much credit to exercising every day and moving my body as much as I can. Y’all should check this machine out on Amazon, it’s worth the price, especially when compared to thousands for the other machine.

Any movement or cardio will be beneficial and much better than doing nothing. If you are trying to obtain the added effect of high-cadence tandem cycling with a motorized cycle that has been shown in several studies. According to this study, It seems to be important to not use constant speed during the session, .

So for a motorised cycle, it should be possible set it to dynamically vary the speed or possible to manually varying it during the session to mimic the tandem high-cadance setup.
