HAS SUPERIOR SOURCE STOPPED MANUFACTURING SUBLINGUAL B1?

After nearly 4 years of trying to get the right dose of B1, switching to sublingual B1 twice then back to HCl, my HwP gets instantaneous good results with the sublingual (stops his arms flying around in bed at night and we think it helps with his balance as he hasn’t fallen over at tennis the last few weeks) but we no longer seem to be able to buy it in Australia. When I look on the Superior Source website, it doesn’t mention B1 as one of their products.

His RAS 🙂 (not RLS) has always been an indicator of either not enough B1 or too much. We find the sublingual easier to regulate.

I don’t know whether ezmelts would be as good due to the additives. Ezmelts have magnesium stearate. I’d appreciate your thoughts please.

Hi Jenny,

Try ninelife.sg/ as I have just purchased a bottle there.

Hi PDbeater

Thank you so much.

Where in the world did you get them from? When I get to the checkout they are charging $90 a bottle compared with the usual $7, so I was wondering if that was Australian dollars??

Just saw that it is Singapore. That makes it $101AUD a bottle. 😢

I paid SGD i.e. Singapore $ 70 which is AUD78 - not cheap but no choice at the moment as Superior Source doesn't seem to be contactable.

Thanks for your trouble. I’ve just ordered through Amazon but for the last 8 or 9 days their site kept saying currently unavailable, but just today it became available for $30. I guess they’re not manufacturing it any more as it’s not listed on their website.

I wanted to get some for my HWP here in the UK but have been struggling to find them. I wonder what the the problem is?

There was one site that I found that shipped to Europe and the US, but not Australia. I’ll see if I can find it for you. I fear they’ve stopped production. Maybe if enough of us sent emails to the company they will reconsider?

In the meantime, I’ve just put in a request for a quote at a compounding pharmacy up the coast.

EZ melts is not sublingual. It says it is on the Amazon advertising but when we asked the firm, they said it goes through the digestive system

on behalf of your Facebook group, would you consider approaching a UK supplement manufacturer to see whether they would produce a stable supply of sublingual thiamine?

Dap1948 profile image
Dap1948 in reply toBuckholt

it’s not something I’ve ever thought of doing and I’ve no idea what demand I could promise them. I’m not sure how many of the group are from the UK and how many of those are taking sublingual. Is this something you have experience of doing?

Thanks for responding. It just struck me that there is demand and perhaps more so if it was easier to buy, but supply seems to rest with Superior Source and no reliable UK stockist. (Or retailer that posts worldwide).

No I have no procurement experience in this area and I wonder whether anyone in this group does? I suppose a supplier would need only to make a small initial batch and test demand, and that would be a commercial decision at their own risk. At least we are not talking about expensive ingredients and so relatively speaking it might not be a significant manufacturing outlay. (Perhaps no more risky for them than producing Thiamine HCL, in what seems to be a very crowded market!

Any further thoughts?

Thank you. I appreciate you going to the trouble of searching for me/us. 🙏

So weird. I had searched on Amazon for over a week and it kept coming up not available?? And now available at an inflated price. I bit the bullet and did it.

Their stock regularly gets depleted and they make it up again. The absence of B1 from their list is often for a short period

Thank you. That’s reassuring! 🙏
