I think lifespan is primarily a reflection of how a person deals with their health and therefore we should not fret over such statistical assessments.
A pwp in the shorter life span cohort who pulls out all the stops (lifestyle, nutrition, exercise) will live longer than a person in the longer life span cohort who does nothing.
I believe most of the literature says cognitive impairment, not age is the primary factor.
If we don't fall down the stairs and break out neck or inhale a mouthful of food, we'll live quite long enough.
