Computer mouse ?

Hello fellow sufferers.

Can anyone recommend a mouse to use with twitchy fingers? Unless I’m at my peak medication time I find it difficult to use a regular mouse as my twitchy middle finger keeps pressing the right button when I don’t need it to. It’s incredibly frustrating.

There are settings on your computer that deal with/adjust for twitchy fingers.

I changed to this one and I love it. I'm right handed but I use my left hand. It took a few days to get used to it but I like it better now. ,🥊

I had just looked at ergonomic mice, gaming mice, track balls and whatever else I could find on display at Best Buy when this was posted. I couldn't find one with a "heavy trigger," which was frustrating because of my frequent unwanted clicks. I tried settings in Windows that were supposed to help (sticky keys and filter keys), but they work on the keyboard, not the mouse. Somebody on this forum mentioned "SteadyMouse" software. I downloaded it and turned off the motion settings, leaving only the "Ignore accidental clicks" setting activated and adjusting the "Hold period" as needed. I think the software trained me to be more deliberate in my intentional clicking, and for now, the problem is solved without the software. The software comes with a money-back guarantee and I could return it, but I think I may want to turn it back on later, so I'm keeping it. I don't know if it will work for you, but you really have nothing to lose. (I will also say that purchasing the perpetual upgrade version probably isn't that important. I don't think the software is being updated much.)

I have a similar problem with tremors. Hope someone has a solution.

I have that problem too, only with a smart phone, not a computer! I use a stylus, for my phone, which helps! Perhaps a stylus, with a wide, webbed metal end, would help you!

I had asked a very similar question just a few weeks ago, as I was having a terrible time with my "lazy" rig finger always dropping down on the mouse right button.

Had a lot of very helpful suggestions from everyone (thanks again), and ended up buying a Logitec Ergo M575 trackball mouse.

The trackball is a little strange to use at first, but the greatest advantage for myself is that the shape doesn't let my lazy finger click the right button hardly at all, and since it's a trackball you don't have to move the mouse around either, which is a great benefit for me because it requires less space to use (I travel 75% of the time for my work).

Whatever you find works for you, let us know! 😁

You might want to try the ONN corded 3-button mice sold at Walmart. The buttons are much stiffer and provide slightly more tactical feedback.

Try using the mouse with your other hand, or alternatively, use the touchpad
