Does Anyone happen to know anything about Nature Cures Clinic in Portland, Oregon . It was founded by Dr. Greg Eckel; he’s a naturopath with an interest in neurology.
They seem nice but I just was curious if anyone had heard of them. Their website is naturecuresclinic.com.
Before I spend money I don’t have LOL… Thanks so much..

I’m not familiar with him, but I would inquire if they are familiar with Laurie Mischley since she is pretty close by in Seattle and she is very well known for her work with PD patients.
Thanks Julie. I was on the phone with them and I had them on speakerphone and vice versa, and I did mention Laurie, But I wasn’t sure if they heard me. The last time I checked Laurie was booked up for months. Which makes sense. But there actually are other people there who use her techniques so that’s another thought. Thank you so much.
This is a wonderful site isn’t it? Did you buy the introductory seminar? That’s a shame. We all get our hopes up and it’s so hard when they get mushed. But thank you so much for the information. It’s actually good to know but not good to know that you had a bad experience. Or maybe we are that good LOL. No but seriously I’m sorry is it it was a waste. But that does help thank you.
But still that’s a fair amount of money. So that’s disappointing. And maybe they were intending that for beginner audiences or something. But that doesn’t really help. Anyway thank you for letting me know about that.
I would highly recommend Dr. Laura Mischley. She has an excellent reputation. Even my MD movement disorder specialist at UPenn agrees. I had an online consult with her that I waited 6 months for. Well worth the wait. She spoke with me for 1 1/2 hours and gave me loads of helpful information. She did blood work and added some things to my medicine regimen. She is doing tons of research too and seems very dedicated to the PD community.
Thank you Jebbie. I’m so glad it went well for you. She really is knowledgeable and she’s also got the Parkinson’s school. I need to go back to looking at that. I think that would probably help also. She’s so encouraging in the videos. So thanks very much. You’ve definitely made me think about it. And helped settle my mind which was going in so many different directions about it.😀
I watched a few videos Dr Eckel did and I have to admit I was not impressed. His plan involves both stem cells and intravenous treatments. I'd recommend you read his e-book before booking a consult. I second the recommendation, though, of Dr Mischley. Even if you can't get into see her, PD School is a fantastic place to start. Plus, I head a rumor that another doctor in her office is coming on soon to see patients using her plan. Not sure if that is a true rumor or not, but worth exploring if you can't get an appointment with Dr Mischley directly. Good luck.
Thank you! Yes I think she definitely has the credibility and tons of research behind her. I do appreciate the advice. And I think I had signed up for Parkinson’s school and then forgot about it. So that’ll be something to look into. Thanks again!
I meant to say also that it would be great if she got some help so I hope that the rumor is true. She is so well-known and respected in our circles, that she probably really needs several clones! But in the meantime, someone who has studied her techniques and works with her would be great.
there are actually a lot of reviews online of this clinic and it sounds like they use acupuncture and hyperbaric oxygen in addition to the other treatments that have been mentioned above and there are several reviews on yelp and google - some claim miracles - others claim price gouging
Thank you for checking. I had not seen the bad reviews. So I’m glad you checked. And it’s sad because we can’t fool around here LOL. You know? Time is so precious and going quickly. So it’s very hard to put money and time into something that’s possibly not helpful. Thanks so much for letting me know!
Personally I have no opinion on this clinic even though I live not far from Portland but I have decided that from now on no matter what the service or product it is wise to read every review. Years ago before I even knew there were reviews online we got two roofing estimates which were about the same in cost. My husband didn't know which one to choose but the one he did choose did an awful job and we have had nothing but trouble ever since so this is what lead to my idea that reading every review is important.
You’re right. The reviews usually are really helpful. Sometimes there will be good ones that are a little too good. When I’m paying better attention and looking at reviews, I check the date, and also see how many reviews the reviewer has posted already for other products or services. But all in all it’s a really good thing and very helpful. I also enjoy reading them kind of.
I am trying to schedule a phone consult. It is supposed to be 1hr free. I'll let you know if i go through with the call. I think they want you to go to there clinic and I think it is expensive. Here is a contact number that they sent to me . the person who sent me the message was Brynna. I got a message on my computer not to put phone numbers. So I deleted it. Good luck. Let me know what is working for you.I'm really frustrated.
Hi Smitty bear. I’m sorry I took so long. I had called them also the other day and they quoted something like $3000-$4000. That was telehealth so that was good but it was really strange because I asked if maybe a patient could concentrate on areas they think are important for them . She said no which is understandable. And then they were gonna call me back the next day and it’s been a couple days.
I don’t think I’m going to pursue it. I’m sorry you’re having a bad time with the whole thing. It’s a little discouraging to add clinic distress on everything else .
Thank you! And right after I said they didn’t get back to me again, they left me a message LOL. Yes, it would be great to hear what they say — thanks again . Good luck!
I'm close to dropping $4K just for testing. If the test results suggest stem cell therapy, it's about $25K. Not going to happen. Have you heard from anyone with success in this area?
I can’t think of anyone who’s talked about success.I can’t even know anyone who’s had it done. But that’s possibly me because I haven’t really looked into that option.
There have been conversations on here about it though. Oh shoot sorry I’m not much help.
Plan B, go and see a good (Chinese, native, experienced) Chinese medicine doctor. They have a couple of thousands years on Western medicine on treating PD, and do very well with it
