It has been suggested that King David (of Goliath fame) had Parkinson's disease. He could not keep warm which may have aggravated a tremor (shiver). Google King David had Parkinson's disease.

1 When King David was very old, he could not keep warm even when they put covers over him. 2 So his attendants said to him, “Let us look for a young virgin to serve the king and take care of him. She can lie beside him so that our lord the king may keep warm.”

3 Then they searched throughout Israel for a beautiful young woman and found Abishag, a Shunammite, and brought her to the king. 4 The woman was very beautiful; she took care of the king and waited on him, but the king had no sexual relations with her.

It happens to me sometimes, I also get sneezing attacks. Believe this is from autonomic nervous system dysfunction.

Before I was diagnosed, I had shivers like I was cold. They went away when I started C/L. I assume now they were an internal tremor.

I also used to get "shivery" spells that I felt like I needed a sugar hit many years before being diagnosed with PD I used to grab a chocolate bar or something sweet for a "fix" I never got offered what King David was reputably given !!

I have a "rolling chill" that starts at my head down to my toes. I like your description of "shiver" much better. I asked my neurologist about it last week, but she had no thoughts as to why that was. This is a new thing for me, so I am glad to read that I'm not the only one...I will chalk it up to another symptom. 🙄

Thank you for the information on King David - I had never read that before. It stands to reason as The Preacher, in Ecclesiastes wrote, "There is nothing new under the sun".

Wishing everyone a "warmer" day! Thank you for the post!!
