Hi. Im on a combination of madopar 3 tablets of 50/12.5 mg and mucuna pruriens. 325mg exttract. I alternate them one dose madopar inthe morning, 9.30, then mucuna at 1.30, then madopar at 6.30pm and mucuna at 10.30 pm before sleep. While the first two doses work perfectly ( tremor, and central pain controlled...no slowness) the third fails almost always. The fourth mucuna at night totally helps me sleep and pain disapears. But my evenings from 6.30 till night time are mostly painful. Can anyone identify with this? I went to dinner the other night and it was hell...😔

I don't understand your regimen. Is it?

0930, 50 mg Madopar

1330, 325 mg mucuna

1830, 50 mg Madopar

2230, 325 mg mucuna

Yes. Thats correct. The bensezaride in madopar helps the mucuna. according to my neurologist.

Are you by any chance taking vitamins at mid day? Taking vitamin B6 near the time of taking madopar will inactivate it.

Hi Park bear. No. I tend to take all my vitamins in the morning.

Hi Hekate, my husband is similar and at the end of the day nothing works and dystonia takes over. What is your mucuna LDOPA percentage? Hww uses 1/8 ts of 99.9% Ldopa. Just curious re your 325mg you are using. Thanks

Cheers

Mel

I have recently realised that levadopa does nothing for me. I feel no benefit at all and no reaction if I forget a dose or even two doses.

Are you eating before the 3rd dose? Eating protein before a dopamine dose will interfere with its absorption. Having protein only in the evening helps.

No. I dont eat at least 30 min before or an hr after l dopa dosages

But if you have protein you need to leave at least 2 or 3 hrs before your next c/l dose or there will be trouble with absorption.
