Tremors worse. Thoughts?

In December started Sinemet 25/100 X1 day , then increased 2X day. Then instructed to increase 3X day. I had a lot of difficulties sleeping so decreased down to 2X day. It has had positive effects on my symptoms except the tremors. Now I have attempted to increase up to 3X day beginning 4 days ago and it seems that the tremors are much worse, my left hand, arm, and leg are shaking terrible. Is it possible to have this effect from the increased dose? I am new to this and searching my way. Will see my neurologist in 2weeks. Thanks for your thoughts. Betty.

I have personally experienced an increase in symptoms due to overmedication. Based on your account an increase in tremors due to overmedication is exactly what is happening to you. I suggest backing off to 2X day and see if this resolves.

Keep in mind that Sinemet is strictly for symptom relief - so there is every reason to adjust dosage to what best relieves your symptoms

Thank you. I will do that. The Sinemet has been good for my balance, movement, relieving tendon tightness in my leg etc. but I think I have to look for something else to help with the tremors.

I take 1 Sinemet 3x/day and 1/2 Artane 2x/day for my tremor. Sinemet did nothing for the tremor.

I believe you can be overmedicated. When they told me to take sinemet 25/100 three times a day, I started with 1/2 tablet twice a day in stead. I also take some mucuna. I have not increased the dose for 8 years.

The obvious and unwanted suggestion is increasing or decreasing your meds.... giving it time to see what helps.

Another suggestion is increased HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) exercise.

Exercise, particularly HIIT, is often the best medicine for PD.

I highly recommend acquiring (which I recently did) Oculus Quest 2 with the Beat Saber and FiTXR Boxing games. It is a $350 investment in total but well worth while... it makes my workouts effective and fun.

And exercise has been shown to be more effective than pills in most cases.
