I have researched this a bit and am very intrigued by it. Neuro protective! Increases BDNF.

I am exploring Ibogaine which sounds promising as well for both depression and neuroregeneration

im balking just out of the gates....i have a friend using it via clinic...$600/dose...says the psychedelic effect is too much...i dont want to treat stuff by getting messed up on psychedelics....my grateful dead days are over mostly haahah...additionally after speaking to our local previously unbeknownst to me, ketamine clinic grudgingly acknowledges you will likely need boosters every 3 months in perpetuity. so it sounds like you just stay high to treat depression..i think most of us have figured that out either intuitively or by experience self medicating....and up to 18% with ptsd like symptoms may get worse...it would be cheaper to micro-dose psylocibin but again...the grateful dead effect...cheers!

For Parkinson's it is used as a microdose so you don't get the psychedelic effect - no high - just the increase in GDNF. It is used in much greater doses for other issues such as traumatic brain injury or PTSD or opioid addiction. Was your friend in the latter category?

no just chronic depression...he indicates as a previous recreational psychedelic user that he felt uncomfortably high, after 2 doses over 2 weeks, and after calling around i found great variation between clinics as to how much how often...very little consensus...thats scarey...imo. cheers!

There is also a wealth of information on this forum regarding Ibogaine for PD - that is how I learned about it. All the best

I did ketamine treatment for depression before I started C/L. The C/L cleared up residual depression/anxiety almost immediately.

I did ketamine assisted psychotherapy. This is a different approach, where a psychotherapist accompanies you during the experience, and helps to process whatever arises afterwards. It did help with my depression, but not like C/L, which tells me that dopamine deficiency was a big player.

However, it's more expensive than straight ketamine w/o psychotherapy. And not available in a lot of places.

wow thanks! so was/is it a permanent benefit for you without "boosters"?

That's hard to say, since I started C/L fairly shortly afterwards, which brought my mood back to "normal".

I wouldn't hesitate to do the ketamine again though, it was a very positive experience.
