One of the best practice I experienced trying to come to terms with depression and apathy in PD, is having a positive attitude. Last year I posted about the importance of making lovely activities, so in my case it is to keep on flying. All around a private flight there are lot of stuff you need to know, to evaluate, and finally... to enjoy. Such things work like a natural engine for my mind and mood. I'm so glad and excited any time I take off the ground that PD loosens its bite at least for a while.
Even if you don't fly, there are so many beautiful things to do that will stimulate our positive emotions and therefore also improve our quality of life.
Many friends have told me that in this video (flight from Rome to Croatia) I am smiling while I usually have a flat expression. I am attaching the link to encourage you to do beautiful things, even simple ones that you like a lot:
This is fantastic Luca. I don't have PD, my husband does (although he doesn't fly), but I work for a charity in the UK, Aerobility. Here, disabled people can learn to fly and it really is a great motivator. Their beaming smiles when they finish their flight is an absoloute joy to see. However......flying becomes addictive for them (as I'm sure you already know)! It's also very expensive even though the charity is able to subsididise the cost.
Hi thank you for your words. "beaming smile..." sounds like the italian sentence for joy and amazement. It really is. I worked in a project like yours years ago and it was fantastic.
Luca, awesome video! I love flying, and it sure looks like you are having a lot of fun! The views are spectacular! Thanks for sharing this! Have an absolutely fantastic day!
