Something new for gut health - paraprobiotics - inactivated (killed) probiotics. It may sound counter-productive to eat dead probiotics, but apparently there are benefits from consuming them and they are probably safer in some situations. Many 'good bacteria' can go bad if given the opportunity to invade tissue (pathobionts) due to leaky gut and/or a weakened immune system.
