Has anyone experienced a skin rash from Ashwagandha?

When I first started taking (approximately 9 months ago), I experienced the feeling that something was crawling on me, which would keep me up at night. So, I started taking both of 250 mg of KSM-66 in the morning (500 mg a day). I like the way it made me feel (clearer thinking mainly). I have a rash that is getting worst. Today (1/19/20) I stopped taking. I have now started low-dose Lithium which seems to have more of same effect on me. healthunlocked.com/cure-par... . Hopefully, I won’t lose my clarity and the rash will clear.

Edit 4/23/23 - rash was not from Ashwagandha.

Gcf51, it's very interesting that you made this post concerning Ashwagandha and a rash developing, as I have just recently developed small bumps on my skin that look like very tiny acne spots.I also take the Ashwagandha at 300mg, and I also take 5mg of Lithium Orotate at night. I have had this in my regimen for at least three months, and have never had any reactions until (possibly) now. Why I say possibly is my skin is already sensitive, and I sweated a lot while cutting firewood this past weekend.

Have you done anything outside of your routine, including exercise or different foods lately?

My wife suggested I take an antihistamine and see if it clears up, which I will do tonight. Will follow up and let you know if it helped me 😀

SAGoodman My rash is little red spots (a little larger than a speck). Some have yellowish to clear crusty scabs on them. Antihistamine does mine no good.

I find that KSM-66 improves my mood better than regular Ashwagandha extract.

I have restarted taking KSM-66 (Ashwagandha) after 7 days. My rash wasn’t getting any better. Both the KSM-66 and lithium improved my mood, but I seemed to be losing the clearer thought that the KSM-66 provided. I am still taking the lithium.

Sometimes I take breaks from stuff. I cut back my Ashwagandha (KSM-66) to 1 a day. Today I took 2 again -- tremor is less, clarity is better. I say the KSM-66 definitely helps with PD symptoms.
