Yup, I have it now 12 years after diagnosis. My dad had it late in his PD. Don't know if it's a dyskinesia or not, since I don't have other dyskinesias. Don't bother with a night guard. It won't help. (They don't help people who grind or clench, although dentists prescribe them, despite no evidence of efficacy. I have personally conducted clinical trials on this; NIH funded.) If I notice I am doing it, my mantra becomes 'lips together, teeth apart.' That helps to break it...until it comes again.

Chiari malformation causes this as does a C2 Spine problem. Everybody should get checked for Chiari or a C-spine problem.

Finding that many EDS patients and auto immune disease patients have Chiari and ultimately get PD.

I have a Cervical Spine problem that causes clenching. My father has PD and C-Spine problems. They have many of the same symptoms. Determining what causes what is the challenge. However, I believe the spine causes the most symptoms. This all affects the brain and then patients end up with a PD type of problem. Thank you for listening.

In my case my neurosurgeon diagnosed me. PCP can order films to check for Chiari malformation.
