I take 10,000 everyday

10,000 a day also

If I found out by a test that I actually had Covid I would take 60 thousand to 70 thousand a day for three or four days. Before everybody jumps on me do some research. Ask your doctor what is the negative affect of doing this. There is a negative affect of taking 60K for a long period of time (many days) and that is all. The positive side is remarkable.

Given that 25 hydroxy vitamin D, the active form is likely the form that is most active toward Covid-19, it probably won't do to take high dose vitamin D once you have or right before you get Covid as it could take days for the body to fully convert vitamin D3 to 25 hydroxy vitamin d.I am currently at 35,000 to 40,000 iu/day as part of my current experiment. I'll try and let you guys know if it kills me.

I agree. Dr David Grimes says two weeks, in his useful little book, so I'd rather get it up to a healthy level before I catch it, if I'm going to. 1000iu tablets for 8 years had only got me to 80 nmol, so I changed to Nature's Answer and went up to 150 nmol in just a few months on 4000 iu. Testing twice a year, 2000 iu summer and 4000 iu winter keeps me at a reasonable 125 nmol average. I also use magnesium and K2.

Your measurements threw me off as I am on the other side of the pond where they use ng/ml. Are you slender, as that is a pretty good increase from just 4000 iu?

Sorry, I should have used both. Good deduction and I hadn't considered that. I was losing weight and became 'emaciated' according to rheumatologist at that point, (unable to digest anything - no stomach acid and lots of nutrient deficiencies, gluten intolerance now sorted. So it being an oil based drop rather than a tablet is probably also relevant). Definitely overweight before (underactive thyroid, mainly) and normal for me now, so on the solid side! But I know that we all vary hugely with vit D absorption, so never one I'd encourage people to take a lot of without monitoring. I heard of one man who needed 10000 iu daily for 18 months to get to optimal levels, but my dad, 81 year old redhead, is fine with just UK sunshine and 1000 iu in the winter. I'll be interested to see how your experiment works out! Best wishes

Be careful Art. With any dose above 10k for an extended period of time you need to limit calcium intake. I take 100,000 iu a day, have for nearly 3 years as part of the Coimbra Protocol. Look at my previous posts for more details.

Hi. When I started my Vit D journey many years ago I started on 10000IU/day for two weeks and reduced to 5000IU/day thereafter. This was sufficient for me to achieve the upper end of the blood plasma range. However, I have since added Vitamin K2 and Magnesium (BiOptimiser brand of 7 Mg complexes). Both K2 & Mg are critical when taking D3, the former acts as a director of sorts guiding calcitonin (which requires D3) to where it is required, such as the bones. Without and calcitonin may be deposited in areas where not required). My product of choice is LifeExtensions D3+K2. Be aware that some may have a polymorphism thay reduces the body's ability to absorb D3. Some may also require additional B12 for absorption. Finally,if you can get it from the sun then take it and leave the supplementation as a back-up. As I live in Ireland...well, you can guess the rest...😆😆. Best wishes for 2022 all!

I also take 5000iu 2X day👍 found out through lab work it was low at just 5000iu per day, so I doubled it and now is back in range the Dr was looking for.

I take 60,000 a day with zinc and vitamin C. Supposed to be the Covid cocktail.

Add Quercetin to the stack and you'll be almost bullet proof. Quercetin acts as a Zinc ionophore pulling the Zinc across the cell membrane to take up residency on ACE2

Almost forgot.....D3 requires optimum levels of K2. The latter acts as a.director of sorts ensuring calcitonin for example, goes to where it is required and not deposited where it is not. Life extension carry a D3+K2 supplement. Also ensure optimum leveles of Magnesium too (all PWP should be taking a Mg supplement)

Most interesting to me were the last few minutes of the video (starting at 30:13) about the value of sunlight for "infrared radiation" (separate from ultraviolet light that produces Vitamin D).

Dr. Roger Seheult reported on a study that showed infrared light made a positive difference in Covid outcomes because it stimulates mitochondria to make melatonin, a "powerful antioxidant" which is "beneficial" not only for covid treatment but for many other diseases.

Another reason to sit under the infrared lights, I believe.

More than 50% of the suns light emittance is in the infrared range. UV and visual light are significantly less. It also penetrates the skull.

And sitting in the sunlight is more pleasant than in the plug-in light panels. 🙂

I don't know if there's a connection but when I use the infrared sauna I tend to fall asleep.

My understanding is Vit D must be ingested with fat for it to be absorbed and make it into the liver through the hepatic portal system. People who take 100,000 units per day are not absorbing any of it. In animals mega-doses of Vit D has been used for euthanasia; A doctor once told me that dogs could be euthanized if fed an entire bottle of Vit D capsules. I lived in a high altitude desert at 7000ft. I ran daily during lunch hour. Vit D levels barely reached normal levels.
