Dysknesia

I normally take 2 25/100 every 3 hrs, I tried entacapone with 1 and 2 pills worked OK, then I was getting dysknesia more often, cut pill entacapone in half didn't help, weaned off entacapone. I would get dysknesia occasionally, lately every time I take 2 25/100. Now I'm trying 1 pill 25/100 which doesn't really take all tremors away but no dysknesia, and if tremors comes back more I tried taking 1 more pill the next hour and that held me over for 3 half hours. With just the one pill it would last 2 half, it varies depending on what I'm doing, and stress doesn't help. No dysknesia for now .

My husband is only able to take 1 Rytary at any dose time, due the severe Dyskensia he gets. He is on Amatadine, but it doesn't offer him any help. The Dyskensia is only prevalent from noon to 3 pm until after another dose of Rytary. I'm hopeful the Dr will give him Sinemet ER which might help: yes, he takes 1 Rytary at 9:45 am and then a Sinemet at 10:00, which was to hold him until the 2:00 dose, but by noon the Dyskensia starts. Akgirlsrock: My husband reacts the same as you with the 2 25/100 tablets.....but the 1 25/100 isn't enough to help...that's why he was switched to Rytary, but his system can't handle the full dose : 4 pills of Rytary at one time.

I'm actually taking Gocovri which is basically the same as Amantadine but at a higher dose and it's extended release. I was taking 100 mg of Amantadine and I'm taking 274 mg of Gocovri. I take 2 capsules at bedtime. @marcus I've been sleeping better since I've been on the Gocovri. I sleep 6 - 7 vs 4 - 5.

Comment and a question. We have found that Amantadine was a great solution for dyskinesia.

Now the question -- does anyone experience dyskinesia/movements even though not currently on C/L and Amantadine? Life is one question after another these days! Thank you!

To all who takes Amantadine, did you find it difficult to sleep at night? I was getting around 2-3hrs a night.

The Amatadine, for my husband, is like him taking a "sugar pill" it doesn't interfere with anything nor does it help with Dyskensia. But it may have to do with the small dose of CD/LD he can handle . Do you take Melatonin to help with sleep? or Valerian Root? (that is good, but taking long term can cause issues, so stopping it after 1 or 2 bottles and then resuming after a few weeks is okay).
