For the third time I am trying Entacapone 200 mg .

I was taking one 2 mg Ropintinrole 3 times a day, one 300mg Cabapinton 3 times a day and 2 1/2 25/100 C/L 7 times a day. I was doing poorly on this dose.

I had only 1 hour out of three that i felt any relief from the pain and the symptoms of nmy PD.

I now take the C/L 25/100 as noted above along with 1 200 mg Entacapone with every dose of c/L. This is all I take now.

Sense starting this dose (4 days) i have very little down time (less than 1 hour a day). Hope it stays this way.

morning Bailey..... The only thing I ever got from Requip was swollen calves and ankles!

This my be TMI but here goes.

Requip was what i took for the first 8 years and it worked ok. It caused me to gamble away about $15,000. It also made me a sex addict. I was always a border line sex addict (just with my lovely wife she is my first and only and I am her first and only we have had a great sex life for the last 48 years we have had sex at least 3 times a week all this time)but reqip put me over the edge. It also affected my wife. She would sort my pills every day and just touching put her libido through the roof. I was 59 and she was 58 when it hit it peak . For the next 3 years we had sex of some sort at least 6 times a day and some times we would go for 2 or 3 hours straight. It even made her lady parts larger and tougher. I could not make her sore. Her labia grew about 2 times larger. The sex only tapered off when i reduced or stopped taking requip.

Bailey,

Good to hear from you. I did not know pain was a pd symptom. I currently have a lot of pain in my back with sciatica down my leg. Is that from pd or just Lowe back disk issues?

Parkinson's motor impairment can result in back pain, but if you have sciatica that would be a disc problem.

Thank you. I suspect it is a disk problem as I have had sciatica pain periodically all my life. It usually goes away with rest, I am grateful for your response,

I get sciatica, and find the cobra position helps. Check out Bob and Brad's YouTube videos for this and other physio issues.

Spinal stenosis seems to be very common in PWP and can cause pain that is similar to what you describe.

The pain i refer to is a symptom of PD and is relieved only with PD meds like C/L .Any pain that is a result of PD symptoms is just pain that can be relieved with pain killers.

I have pain mostly n my hands.

For pain in the hands, I have had good luck taking an ibuprofen soft gel capsule and poking a hole in it with a toothpick, squeeze out the gel and mixing it with a little hand and body lotion such as Vaseline Intensive Care or similar in a shot glass using the toothpick to mix it. I apply this lotion to my hands for relief in about 5 minutes or less. This avoids sending ibuprofen to the gut and other places in the body it is not needed.

Thanks I will try it when the C/L does not work.

Also possible that the pain is associated with your Kidneys.

Good morning Gymbag,

My reaction too meds has changed over the last few years. So far this time i am having very few problems.

Yesterday was bad. My meds did not work right from the time i finish eating breakfast. I ate 2 eggs , 2 pieces of bacon and 2 small biscuits with butter and jam for breakfast. At lunch my wife i shared a order of fried catfish with fries and chips and salsa .

When i eat a large meal my meds don't work correctly .

It may also have been withdrawal from the reqip and gabapentin my legs hurt so bad. But i did not take any. They would have eased the pain. I just endured it and took the C/L and Gabapentin every 3 hours. The pain and stiffness went away about 7 last evening. The last time i stopped taking Requip and Gabapentin i could not stand the pain so i just started taking them again .

Great I'm thinking of requesting Entacapone on my next neurologist visit

Thank you Bailey for the reply!

Neuro did add Re-Quip a month ago, 1mg tab 3X day, they want to get RQ dose raised and decrease my daily 1250mg C/L (5X 250mg)

This has gotten way out of control, their abusing the lab rats, handing out med after med while we wait for the magic "script" to arrive, its frustrating and sad....
