I posted this on my Facebook page, and I got many thanks from friends who benefitted. So I thought I'd share it here as well...
Today is my sixty fifth birthday. So I’ll share a bit of what’s going on in my life at this milestone…
Recently I’ve had a shift where I either wake up happy, or if not, I’m often able to shift to a state of happiness. This I think is in part due to teachers and friends who are helping me move in this direction, and in part because various health challenges have helped me to focus on my own needs and wellbeing.
I’ve also been practicing self love, and for the first time I understand how important this is. When I can open my heart to myself, I can also open it to others. When my heart is open I feel joyful. And I can share that.
I worry less. I grew up with a mother who worried constantly, and it became a fixture of my subconscious and daily experience, It’s not gone, but less prominent.
I feel grateful more often for just being alive.
I push myself much less, and listen to my body more.
I can breathe more deeply.
