Hello everyone.
My question is can AlA and ALCAR be taken together with l/c, or does it have to be taken separately?

Hello everyone.

Jesus,
If you are asking if alpha lipoic acid (ALA) and acetyl l carnitine (ALCAR) can be taken together, the answer is yes, in fact they make combo supplements that have both in one capsule and these are mainly used as a partial treatment for peripheral neuropathy (PN), but it is the alpha lipoic acid that is most noted for PN. The combination is thought to have synergy against PN. B1, B6 and B12 are complementary to ALA/ALCAR to work against PN. Here is a link to some combo ALA/ALCAR capsules :

Generally these two together are energizing and there are reports that they keep some people awake if taken to late in the day. Some members have reported that ALA can exacerbate tremor or make them jittery. ALA can be a little harsh on the stomach, so it is probably better to take it away from L/C and with food . ALA is noted for helping to reduce L/C related dyskinesia.
