Thoughts on Neuroplasticity

I don't think the link works.
That may be why vigorous exercise helps. I feel like I relearn how to walk every day. It is work at the outset but I end up feeling much better when I am done.
I'm a hardcore believer in neuroplasticity, the topic I huge and you have to be so constantly doing particular activities but based on the research I have done, and still doing I believe this is the most comprehensive way to fight Parkinsons, however it's such a HUGE topic
High Intensity Exercise stimulates brain derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) and other neurotrophic factors. These are believed to be key for neuroplasticity. New neural formation in the hippocampus occurs, key for memory function. You can't produce "new" dopaminergic neurons but neurotrophic factors may stimulate growth of new branches of these neurons.
My hwp is using a PoNS (mouth piece stimulates the tongue to send signals to the brain). He is doing a 14 week specific exercises - morning, afternoon & evening, six days a week - he is at week 8. The intention is that new brain connections are being made. There are signs of improvement in his walking. The exercise routine is beneficial even after the program ends. Our hope is that is will bring improvement - six more weeks to go!
