Symptom Sorter?

I had a thyroidectomy 17 years ago (100mg levothyroxine) and 5 years ago started collecting a variety of symptoms and diagnoses. Hypothyroidism (treated liothyronine (T3)), hyperparathyroidism (waiting for an operation), parkinsonism (PD?) (25/100carb/levodopa), and hypertension (5mg amlodipine)

The neurologist has a question mark over the PD so I was wondering whether any of the following symptoms are not PD?

1. lost sense of smell (restored by T3) 2. pain in thighs & groin muscles (T3 cured) 3. constipation (controlled by magnesium citrate) 4. weak bladder 5. kyphotic neck, stoop, shuffling gait 6. weak muscles (a tiny bit of strength returned by T3) 7. stomach discomfort 8. nausea & sickness, when I bend over on straightening up agony with stomach muscles, feels as though guts lack lubrication (slightly improved by T3 above tummy button, but still really bad below tummy button, when sick agony as stomach rights itself) 9. headaches & dry mouth when wake in morning, chases me out of bed by 5.30am! 10. swollen legs by night time. 11. tiny handwriting (improved by levodopa? or mind over matter) 12. pass the pull test, can stand on one leg, no falls, occasional RH tremor move hand and it stops.

Thank you for reading and grateful for any thoughts.

Hello Darty3. Those symptoms you listed are PD symptoms as far as I know. I have some of them. I don't feel the pain you describe when bending over and straightening up.

Thank you Giovi1960 for your response.

I suppose with all these biochemical imbalances that they have several similar symptoms. I always thought loss of smell was a sign of PD. But with me it was lack of T3. So I suppose only the parathyroid operation will show which symptoms are due to it or PD.

I hope your PD can be controlled and isn't too painful.

You're probably right about the similarity in symptoms. Thanks, Darty3. I was diagnosed in 2017 and so far I can't complain. Trying to train my brain, mind and spirit to be stronger than my illness, if that is possible ÷)Wish you all the best.
