I watched a Ted Talk by Dr. Mary Newport on how coconut oil helped her husband with his disabling Alzheimers (early starting at 50yrs of age). Here is the link if you are curious: youtu.be/Dvh3JhsrQ0w
Have any of you tried this for cognitive impairment? Wondering on behalf of my mom, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease, but seems to be Lewy body like.
Many thanks and best wishes to you all,
Sarah

There is reason for skepticism - in this interview her husband sits there for the entire time and never says a word. On the other hand some commenters claim it helped...
Hi, you may find this interesting - there are some who think it helps, but it is not a magic cure. agingcare.com/articles/re-e...
That said, I wish I'd known about the possibility when my mum started with Alzheimer's. I use small amounts of coconut oil and some walnuts and have less memory issues and brain fog than I did, but I have also changed other elements of diet and lifestyle so no way of knowing how much is due, if any, to the coconut oil. Coconut certainly doesn't suit everyone. Best wishes to you both.
this was all the rage on this forum about 5 years. It was the B1 of it's day. Some people claimed it help, some people claimed it didn't. Sound familiar?
