I am going to assume it is safe for PD patients until a lot of reports say it is not.

I have not heard of any one dying from the Vaccine and many hundreds of thousands of people have already received it.

There are several new versions of the virus, one from Great Britain and at least one from Africa that are more contagious and may be more deadly, and they are on the way here.

In 1953-54 I stood in line , and received the first ever vaccination the world had ever seen . The people down the street were from Poland and they did not trust anybody. They refused to let their two daughters get vaccinated and sure enough the young one got Polio. Now it appears that Americans are the ones that do not trust anyone. Very sad.

In Canada as in most places, the inoculation site is well equipped with emergency meds to counter allergic reaction .

My husband had his Pfizer 2 nd jab on Monday. This one has definitely made him very weak and his Parkinsons symptoms seem worse. Today he is a little better and hopefully tomorrow better still. There are reports that people are off colour after the 2nd jab

Haven't your heard about Dr. Gregory Michael, from Miami, who died after having gotten the Pfizer vaccine?

condor39 profile image
condor39 in reply toRedginger

No I have not heard that. Where is the info.?

MarionP profile image
MarionP in reply tocondor39

"Shortly after receiving the vaccine, Dr. Michael developed an extremely serious form of a condition known as acute immune thrombocytopenia, which prevented his blood from clotting properly.

In a statement, Pfizer, the maker of the vaccine, said it was “actively investigating” the case, “but we don’t believe at this time that there is any direct connection to the vaccine.”

“There have been no related safety signals identified in our clinical trials, the post-marketing experience thus far,” or with the technology used to make the vaccine, the company said.

About nine million people in the United States have received at least one shot of either the Pfizer or Moderna coronavirus vaccine, the two authorized in the United States. So far, serious problems reported were 29 cases of anaphylaxis, a severe allergic reaction. None were reported as fatal. Many people have had other side effects like sore arms, fatigue, headache or fever, which are usually transient.

Local and federal agencies are investigating Dr. Michael’s death. Several experts said the case was highly unusual but could have been a severe reaction to the vaccine."

As you can see from the numbers, this should not deter anyone from being vaccinated. More likely there is some connection to particular genetic vulnerabilities in some subset of folks, not all, people, as yet to be clarified and a testing mechanism that could be practically used propagated, and in those people the virus wreaks great havoc, scissoring heart muscle fibers into bits, unleashing immune system storms that attack the person, things in lungs and brain and some other organs and vascular systems. For those people I suspect mortality is higher regardless of age, and death does not make them wait long.

Best defense has been to be on board with D, C, zinc, and be hospitalized before the disease becomes severe so that early treatment interventions, which now there are several, can be tried especially if you are lucky to show symptoms within the first 5 days...but of course, if you don't show symptoms then it probably means you will not graduate into the severe course in the first place.

They have learned to hospitalize before previous practices would have suggested it, much more proactive treatment that way and the treatment reduces severity so that you will survive much more than in the early days of last winter spring and summer. So if you are going to get it, now is a better time than ever.

Regardless, vaccination is essential to those who can get it, meanwhile keep the masks on and stay away from people's air, don't go walking through it, insist on people near you wearing masks or beat a prudent, very hasty retreat.

Don't believe any of the American mental defectiveness that scoffs at masks and believes it all to be an exaggerated hoax or the object of political lemming-ery, phobic about immunization as the deep state new world order secretly seeking to poison the justly conservative in their religious culture war, which they take as seriously as actual war...just think about that for a moment, and you have the explanation for all their bizarre savage and ruthless behavior, they think they are in a real war against the mud people...those people are arrogant and stupid and don't deserve, due to their stupidness, to enter Heaven...they are off the deep end and will not be retrieved, like any cult, so don't let them take you down with them. They are part of the insane Far Right (actually anymore it is also center-right now as well) madness over here, consider them not. They look on death from coronovirus as social Darwinism fulfilling its natural function, so those who die were weak somehow and should be culled, with the survivors of infection deserving to live because they are strong enough to withstand the disease...and such other rot. Forget 'em, turn off the sound when they talk or shriek.

It is under investigation. Google it. As far as I can tell no definite correlation at this time.

what happens if you are already coming down with it and don't know you are infected when you have it. Is that still safe or do you need to test negative first?

glenandgerry profile image
glenandgerry in reply toLAJ12345

That's a very good point. I know of 3 people here in the UK who seemed to contract Covid within 24-48 hours of receiving the vaccination which is too quick so one assumes they already had the virus. They were all over 80, sadly two have passed away.

My dad, he's 86, was supposed to get vaccinated Thursday. They tested him that morning and he was positive. He has a few mild symptoms but he has to wait 90 days after he tests negative before he can get the vaccine. So disappointing.

LAJ12345 profile image
LAJ12345 in reply tolaglag

That’s good they are testing first.

Won’t he have some immunity if he has had it?

laglag profile image
laglag in reply toLAJ12345

I'm not sure if they know that for sure. My dad tested positive about 2-3 mths ago and was supposedly asymptomatic?

Did u check with Your Neuro?

NRyan profile image
NRyan in reply toRabilo

No, I am a healthcare provider (so I really should be vaccinated) and my PD is mild at this point. I am not on any meds and am still working. I had the flu shot, MMR booster and take Vit D3. I also follow TWIV and John Campbell on Youtube religiously so I am pretty up on what the virus is doing and what to be concerned with. People with cardiac issues are the biggest concern, as it affects the vascular system the most. I am leery of what happened to the Dr in FL. So sad and scary!

Rhyothemis profile image
Rhyothemis in reply toNRyan

I've not been keeping up with those channels as I have gotten burned out; have they said what type of vascular problems?

Any mention of Kounis syndrome?

NRyan profile image
NRyan in reply toRhyothemis

They have been saying the biggest risk is not to people with a history of respiratory issues, but with cardiac issues. I have not heard of anything regarding Kounis syndrome.

Rhyothemis profile image
Rhyothemis in reply toNRyan

Thanks; let me know if you hear any more about it.

I believe my angina at rest a few years back might have been Kounis syndrome. It happened on nights when I had done HIIT training in the morning; I'd be sitting watching tv and quite relaxed. I think it was mast cell-related since it occurred at the time of night when I get itching, hives, acid reflux, and an increase in tinnitus (that's mostly under control now with mast cell stabilizers and avoidance of triggers). I went to urgent care the second or third time it happened and EKG & troponin was normal. I stopped doing HIIT training and it stopped happening.

I've been wondering if taking anti-histamines around the time of vaccination would be okay, or if that would somehow decrease effectiveness.

You aren't going to hear about all the serious negative reactions to the COVID-19 vaccine. I have heard of two doctors and a nurse that died and many in a nursing home that previously had no deaths from COVID. There are two women who are suffering with convulsions after receiving the vaccine. Below is a link to one of them.

You need to decide for yourself but for me and my husband who has Parkinson's we will not take the chance. But we have not gotten a flu shot for over 25 years...and we never get the flu. Many of my relatives always get the flu shot. And you know what? They always come down with the flu.

Lets put this into proper perspective

93,466,672 over 93 million cases so far of covid 19 world wide

2, 000, 602 deaths over 2 million deaths ( most over 75 years old )

66, 761,385 recovered but effect of having had covid is unknown

24,592,900 cases over 24 million cases in hospital right now

How many people have died from the vaccine ?

How many of those 2 million dead would have been saved if we had had the vaccine then

The odds with out the vaccine are not good

I ask again how many have died from taking the vaccine, more than 100, more than 1000 more than 100,000 ?

The United States of America is in the top, position : over 23 million cases, almost 400,000 dead, active in hospital now over 9 million (out of control)

WHY ?

reedboat2 profile image
reedboat2 in reply toGymBag

Why? Because thus far the US has had a pathetically ineffective national response to the pandemic. Trump just used it to further his culture war, hoping that would aid him in his re-election campaign. Which was all he could care about. Sad and tragic, to this day.
