Just noticed on the label for Solgar Vitamin B1 500mg tablets that each tablet only has 41.6% of Thiamine HCI which is less than half, therefore to acquire the recommended dose by Dr C of 2 grams per day would require taking around 8-9 tablets, am I getting this right?
Solgar B1: Just noticed on the label for... - Cure Parkinson's
Solgar B1
I'm not following you. The label should look something like the one here:
vitacost.com/solgar-vitamin...
Where are you seeing 41.6%?
Yes thats the product I have, on the back of the jar it lists Supplement Facts where it states that 1 x 500mg tablet has 41.66% as Thiamine HCI.
Sorry, I don't have that product, I bought vitacost brand. So I can't see what's on the back. I'd say if it has a label like the one I sent you, it should say..
Vitamin B1 (as thiamin HCl) 500 mg 33,333%
The 33.333% refers to the daily recommended amount.
Thanks for that info, I am going to contact Solgar and check what is the actual amount of Thiamine in each tablet.
I also take 500 mg of Solgar B1. The label says 1 tablet is 41,667% of the recommended daily value. Do you see right above the 41,667 where it says "%DV"? Then below it says DV = Daily Value. It's fine... The sentence which says (as thiamine HCl) just refers to the type of B1...
in fact I was wondering why they made such large pills for only 500mg of thiamine hcl, however each pill is 500mg of b1 to make 1g it takes two.
hi jambar you can do what i do, i buy it in 1kg bags its very pure then get scales that have mg and grams weight it your self then put it in a bowl of yogurt and mix it in the yogurt i also put in manitol powder as well ,that way you know what your taking.hope this helps.regards.
Thanks for that suggestion. I had purchased tablets but they're HUGE! Can't swallow them whole or cut in half!! Tried crushing them but didn't quite work out as planned so will just order the powder form and be done with it, lol.
the vitacost brand is capsules, which are easier to swallow. also, i think it is less expensive than solgar.
Had problems with large tablets until I found this tip ............... take tablet with liquid and turn your head to one side to open up the throat and swallow ......... works a treat
Where do you buy the powder pls? Does it work out cheaper?
hi munchbunch well you can buy just about anything at bulk supplements .com they are from england.it works out cheaper buying it in 1kg bags its pure as well.go into it and they will give you all the details.you can buy mannitol as well .hope this helps regards.
I assume it means that each tablet contains 500 mg of B1, which is 41.667% of the total weight of a tablet, and 58.333% of OTHER INGREDIENTS (listed on the label)
