Soda definitely. Too much sugar and no food value.

Nuts is a surprise . Aren't they part of a Mediterranean diet? But maybe it is the pesticides or maybe it's mycotoxins and mould.

Red meat is documented as being a cause but I wonder if grass fed organic is less so.

There are lots but first start with cutting out all sugar and even cut down on too much fruit, anything with additives , anything processed, eat more vegetables, swap all oils for Organic virgin olive oil, Eat organic if you can afford it. Reduce grains, gluten free may help.

Most important of all eat as many green leafy vegetables as you can, and brocolli, cabbage, coloured vegetable. Make a rainbow on your plate every day Of different coloured vegetable. Reduce meat, eat more fish, less dairy. Eat beans like adzuki beans, Kidney beans, lentils.

Look up Mediterranean diet and try and follow that.

It is easier to go cold turkey than treating yourself every now and then as if you are feeling stressed or upset it is easy to fall off the diet. Start saying the mantra I never eat sugar. I never eat takeaways unless I know what is in them and they are mainly vegetables. Add a new mantra each week. Tell your friends and family they need to help you by not feeding you junk. If you never buy it you can’t eat it! Go through your pantry and read the labels and if it has a number or something that isn’t a real food throw it out.

When you go off sugar, you may experience sugar cravings and these will be very difficult t times, but very important to tough through, eventually making it a habit change, but as your various sugar-responsive receptors change it will sometimes feel like what people say is getting off smoking etc. Sweet-tasting (organic when possible) teas help me quite a bit.

I agree, now vegetables taste sweet and sweet potatoes so sweet I find them overpowering! If I have a square of dark chocolate that is less than 90% cocoa I find it unpleasantly sweet, and the good thing about 90% is you don’t want to binge. 1 square is enough.
