Thanks for sharing, aspergerian. My gastroenterologist said that if Tylenol/Paracetamol (acetaminophen) works for me then I should stop using Advil or ibuprofen. It's a very dangerous drug.

BTW, please stay positive and remember to never give up on your self. Things always have a way of working out. They always do.

Seems Tylenol is number 1...

Good morning, ChrisWF. Both are bad. Ironically, after my Parkinson's diagnosis, I rarely need ibuprofen or Tylenol😇

Anyways, please check out this link from Cleveland clinic:

Both are bad IMHO. Remember, the good doctor was giving me the advice from the perspective of a gastroenterologist.

All drugs are very dangerous. All NSAIDS cause gastrointestinal issues. Take a look at indomethecin. There is a balance to consider

Just like many doctors recommend half an aspirin a day to reduce the risk of heart attacks and strokes, Ibuprofen is thought to be neuroprotective and reduce the risk of Parkinsons

It's actually that 37.5 mg. of aspirin (one quarter of a "regular" tab, not one half) reduces the incidence of future thrombosis/occlusion, arterial blockage, strokes and heart attacks IN PEOPLE WHO HAVE ALREADY HAD ONE.

I avoid Tylenol because it depletes glutathione.

"Ibuprofen Can Cause Gastrointestinal Issues"

Personal experience. I was taking at least 800mg a day and often times 1,600mg a day due to severe headaches, at a younger age. I paid the consequences very dearly. I suffered from GERD but with the help of pro-biotics and stopping it, I am doing very well now.

Curcumin is the holistic "pain reliever" and I use the powder daily, sprinkling it on my food. It has the same healing power as aspirin or ibuprofen.

If the pain is localized to a specific area or areas, mag oil (MO) topical spray may work and comes with other health benefits because it adds to your total magnesium intake.

If MO is not strong enough to control the pain, these two are stronger for pain relief and the first one is a homeopathic remedy. Yes homeopathic remedies do work, even in a topical rub:

This second one is also very effective and in a convenient roll on container:

Both of these are at least as effective as ibuprofen in terms of pain relief without the other issues. I have used them both and for others to good effect.

I also make my own topical ibuprofen or naproxen lotion which I have discussed on this forum several times before. This method allows you to reach local tissue levels comparable to prescription dosing while significantly reducing the chance for ibuprofen related side effects.
