Last night in bed approaching sleep my left elbow shot out. In a crowded elevator it would have injured someone. I had no warning, didn't do anything different during the day. When it happened my only thought was, "WTF?"
So my question now is, WTF? I've had left arm tremor for nearly 4 years. Also had a DVT (blood clot) in my left arm last year. My only medications are baby aspirin daily and Tylenol as needed.

Yes it can happen. Time to look into it with a pro.
I actually wouldn't panic about this. Myoclonic jerks as you enter sleep are actually not uncommon in the healthy. Ive found that they are more violent in PD (than before i had reason to think I had PD) but they come and go, I.e it's not something, for me at least, that showed up one day and never left.
Biggest risk is probably clocking someone you share a bed with.
REM sleep disorder is supposed to be pretty common in PWP. I was taking Klonapin until I saw a study posted on this forum about Klonapin contributing to dementia. My wife threw the klonapin out immediately and I've been unsuccessfully experimenting with THC. Fortunately I haven't kicked or punched my wife hard yet .
Thanks, no recurrence of the left arm jerks. But yesterday I spent three hours in a cold rain waiting to get a Connecticut drivers license. The tremor is always worse in cold weather so my arm was flailing constantly.
Still no recurrence of the arm jerk. So far I've been diagnosed with vertigo, APS a clotting disorder, MS then PD. Ultimately I stopped taking meds for these disorders and had no return of signs. I'm seeing a new neuro soon. Technically a 'movement special ist'. I have mild balance problems.
