Sinemet
Can sinemet cr, go together with sinemet ... - Cure Parkinson's
Can sinemet cr, go together with sinemet 25/250.
Yes, but
That really ought to be a question for your neurologist or other health care professional
The product literature says it can be combined with other PD meds, other than levodopa without a decarboxylase inhibitor. So no mucuna!
"A dose of carbidopa levodopa immediate release 25-100 or 10-100 (one half or a whole tablet) can be added to the dosage regimen of SINEMET CR in selected patients with advanced disease who need additional immediate-release levodopa for a brief time during daytime hours."
But TALK TO YOUR NEUROLOGIST (and report back)
Im currently taking sinemet 25/100 ir and sinemet 25/100 cr together and have been for a long time. It seems to work for me. For awhile I was on 50/200 cr also. I thought that was a bit much so I quit with my neurologists blessing.
Do you take 1 CR with each of your IR doses? Did you have to reduce the amount of IR tablets when you added the CR? Rytary didn't work well for me so my MDS neurologists agreed to simply add CR to my IR regimen but they just said to take the CR 3x/day & haven't been very helpful about how to incorporate the CR so I've used advice from Dr. Ahlskog's book to help direct me. Instead of taking my usual dose of 2.5 tablets of IR (5x/day), I recently switched to taking 2 IRs with 1 CR for my 1st, 3rd, & 5th doses each day, & then taking just 2.5 IRs (no CR) for the 2nd & 4th doses. I've had a difficult time figuring out what the best way to incorporate the CRs because I have a mixture of wonky gait, rigidity, & tapping foot all kind of at the same time & no obvious relationship to the dose times! My neurologists have been puzzled by this, too, so it's been difficult for me to help them figure out a more effective med regimen. (I've tried other med combos such as adding amantadine, comtan, etc but the benefits didn't off-set the side effects for me.)
