Sleep is my best medicine. Can you relate?

I was diagnosed with PD in 2016 and have tried Requip and c/l with little relief. In the evening I might suffer from any combo of brain fog, balance issues, speech challenges, or slowness. I will go to sleep and awake at 7am a new man until about noon without meds sleeping seems to work; better than meds. Can you relate?

Do you mean that you don't start your meds until noon, just leave off the morning ones ?

sleep is the foundation of dealing with pd imo.

Yep completely agree, you need to hit deep REM, that's when the body does its thing, it's just bloody hard at times with PD.

Sleep is easily as important if not more than meds

Glad you posted. I was wondering if others find that sleep helps. If I've had exercise or lots of activity a good sleep in the daytime, (up to 2 hours), helps mental clarity and I might skip a dose. It doesn't usually keep me from sleeping at night but if no exercise or activity I might not sleep and then I've undone any good. It varies though and each day is different. Sometimes L-dopa makes me tires and I sleep anyway. 😟😴

I feel great when I get up in the morning, I exercise and within an hour and a half it’s gone west and I have to take meds no idea how to extend it, strangly though I feel quite good in the evenings a few hours after my last dose

My best times are in the morning and evening.

When I have a really good night sleep, I even forget I have PD. In those cases I sometimes forget to take my meds and vitamins because I had gone about my business until my symptoms kick in about noon to remind me.

However, when I don't sleep well then I feel it as soon as I wake up.

I told my neurologist but he brushed me off saying that it was likely in my mind.
